Tips for Getting Involved at SIU

Being involved on campus is an essential part of the college experience. It allows you to meet new people and make lifelong friends. At SIU, there are countless ways to get involved. Here are my top suggestions:

1. Weeks of Welcome

Every year, SIU offers many events that allow students to be involved on campus. These events are included in the Weeks of Welcome which is from August 18-31. There are different activities each day that I highly recommend checking out. View the Weeks of Welcome schedule and be sure to check out any events that catch your eye!

2. Find an on-campus job

SIU students fill over 2,000 jobs on campus each semester! These jobs are located on Handshake. Check them out and find an on-campus job that is right for you. This will help you stay busy, earn money, and connect with people on campus.

3. Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to stay involved at SIU. There are many opportunities that SIU offers. Check out the Saluki volunteer portal
