I will not lie, as a CAM student, I am biased, but I have always had a firm belief that
everyone needs an artistic friend. No matter what subject you study, there is always some
creative project that could use someone with creative expertise. Peer reviewing essays,
taking stunning pictures, and so much more are advantages of artistic friends.
Students in CAM have gained a reputation for being friendly, honest, and helpful for a long
time now. Chances are if you’re nice enough, have at least a decent acquaintanceship with
them, and they have the time, they will help with your projects and essays. I personally
have heard from a few people who have helped people in different majors with projects.
CAM students are passionate people and love their craft. If you need a picture taken, a
photography student will do their best to get the perfect angle and lighting, those focused
on screen writing will help analyze your essay, and so on. They’re also just fun to hang out
with and there’s a person in CAM that just about anyone can enjoy hanging out with.
CAM students also have quite a few leftover materials from previous projects and an array
of trinkets that they are willing to lend to a friend in need. I personally have enough paper
and bendy straws to fill a residence hall shower from my previous projects and am more
than willing to give them away. In multiple discord groups there’s a channel to ask for
supplies or trade and a lot of the time CAM students are the first to offer supplies and
trades.
If you’re ever feeling down about your project, a CAM student is great at picking out the
good qualities of your piece. I recently wasn’t feeling great about a project I had done, so
my friends looked at it and started telling me strengths that I didn’t even know were
strengths.
Artistic friends are a must-have, and CAM friends deliver. I cannot recommend getting to
know the CAM students enough. They’re great people with great ideas and fantastic study
buddies.
